Lip Filler Treatment
in Mentor, OH
At Greer Plastic Surgery, we understand — after all, we’ve helped countless people with those same concerns improve their lips, and smiles, with lip fillers. Learn more below about this simple treatment, and how it can provide you with plumper lips, smoother lines around the mouth, and an addicting smile.

What Are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a normal component of your skin and soft tissue that is naturally lost as you age. HA helps to keep skin soft, smooth, and flexible, which is perfect for an area in constant motion, such as the mouth. By resupplying this natural component, we can rejuvenate your skin for a refreshed look — or, when used in lip fillers, restore and even increase the volume of your lips.
What Can Lip Fillers Do for You?
When applied by an experienced aesthetic expert, lip fillers increase the fullness of your lips in a natural-looking way. This also helps tighten the skin around your lips, which can reduce the lines and wrinkles around your mouth for a more youthful look. Lip fillers are one of our favorite treatments to provide, because plumper lips and a smoother smile are often huge boosts to the confidence of our patients.
Why Choose Greer Plastics for Lip Filler Treatment?
Lip fillers can be a powerful way to achieve a natural, youthful look — in the hands of professionals who understand both the filler and facial anatomy. Our Greer Plastic Surgery staff are trained to adjust dosage to each patient’s needs and avoid pitfalls that could lead to uneven results. Dr. Greer has used lip fillers herself and modified our process based on her own experiences (for example, with the use of numbing cream).
What to Expect from Lip Filler Treatment

Before Your Treatment
During a consultation, we’ll help you determine what results you’re interested in — Do you want significantly fuller lips, or just a bit of plumping? Once we’ve determined a procedure, we’ll tell you how to prepare, such as cutting out use of medications that could increase bruising.
During Your Treatment
A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to the injection to help keep you comfortable. You’ll feel some mild pinching or pressure during the injections, which take about 10 to 15 minutes.
After Your Treatment
Your lips will feel tender for a couple of days, but the sensitivity and swelling will start to improve around day two. You may also feel some stiffness and bumpiness until the swelling goes away, which is normal. If there are bumps that don’t resolve with the swelling, massaging the area is generally an easy way to take care of them.

Lip Filler Results
Most lip fillers last around six to nine months, although some specialized products can last anywhere from 12 to 15 months. Lip filler requires repeated treatments for optimal results.
